Christmas Holiday Specials
Merry mornings, afternoons, and nights candy canes. Wow! Can you believe it? It’s Christmas time already.  The trees are all lit up beautifully, homes are decorated, the trees are filled with love and beauty, and there are Christmas lights everywhere! That means we need some fun, upbeat, happy  Christmas movies to look forward to in the spirit of Christmas right? Well, great news I have the best Christmas movies ever for those warm cherishing moments with the family.  So  feel free to accompany me in this bright colorful trip to your interest....

First up we have our classic best “Home Alone.” Most of us know this movie to be the cutest, funniest, most playful movie of Christmas ever! The story line starts off with an 8-year old boy (Kevin), who doesn’t get enough attention from his parents since they are a large bunch. Like any other 8 year old boy with siblings, Kevin doesn’t always get the attention he wants, he is forgotten a lot but still loved, and constantly picked on by his siblings and cousins. Being the baby of the family his older siblings pick on him a lot and do what any other siblings do to their younger siblings: get them in trouble. The day they were supposed to leave for Christmas vacation Kevin is accidentally left behind while his family flies to France. What does an 8 year old boy left home alone do? He gets excited and goes crazy with excitement. Crashing action, the little boy with fortitude is left to fend off the crazy idiotic burglars on his own to protect his luxurious home. Find out what happens...& guess what? There are sequels too! Best for any age...
Next up is another classic best “How the Grinch stole Christmas,” with Jim Carrey that was developed from Dr. Seuss's cartoon version. The movie portrays a green creature filled with jealousy, greed, and anger towards Christmas. The creature’s intentions were to steal Christmas! That’s not in the good spirit of Christmas, now is it? The movie is a funny, feel-good, lesson-learned kind of movie and I recommend it to any age. It’s a fun, cute, exciting, funny, creative, story on how the Grinch stole Christmas...
Another fun family movie is “Elf.” This movie is funny, cute, and heartwarming. Buddy the elf was a newborn baby that had traveled into Santa's bag when Santa had dropped down for a visit. The baby was raised as an elf at the North Pole and named Buddy. The different  ungainly size of Buddy caused him to travel to the U.S in search of his identity and who he was supposed to be.
Another one is “Fred Claus,” a personal favorite! This movie is “hi-larious”, brain-racking, adorable, fun, silly, and amazing! The movie tells of Fred Claus and his brother...SANTA CLAUS! Growing up Fred was always pushed to side and all attention was given to Santa Claus. The brothers are complete opposites of each other. Fred was completely jealous and envious of his brother and grew up embarking on a very distant relationship. During Christmas time Fred Claus was forced to move to the North Pole. Now remember these brothers are like any other brothers. They have their fights, arguments, disagreements, and so on. Being Santa Claus is hard work! The man already has a lot  of  Christmas presents to prepare for and now his brother is there to stir up the excitement...
There are many more feel-good Christmas movies I personally love and think are heartwarming, cute, funny, entertaining, and  MUST SEES. If you like what you have just read and want more feel free to try out these Christmas movies too...
. “The Polar Express
. “This Christmas”
 “A Christmas Story”
. “A Christmas Carol”
 “Rise of the Guardians"

There are a lot more you can try out too, but those are the main best ones. Now that’s all the time left. Have a wonderful vacation full of love, care, and happiness. Till next time “merry seekers,” Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!...

Family Fun Time

Welcome back citizens of television! Now as you know my main target reviews are about sci-fi or devious girls right? Well let’s try something new! Let’s invite laughter, life, joy, and realistic value of life into the picture. This TV show is one of the funniest shows in America, have you ever heard of “Modern Family”? This comedy explores the regular flaws of a family!

The TV show “Modern Family” is “hi-larious!” It explores common issues of a growing family and how people may handle them or want to handle them in this modern century. The main families of the show are Jay Pritchett ( an elderly man and also the patriarch of the family show),who marries the young, beautiful, latina Gloria, and becomes the stepfather to Manny. Now that being said we know the age difference in marriage gets people talking, and the producers find the usual complaints families would say, and “inject” them into the fictional characters to make it more amusing. There is also the cultural clash between Gloria and Jay because of Gloria’s Colombian heritage. Most of the time he deals with Gloria’s attitude and Manny’s sensitivity and odd overly mature ways. Jay Pritchett also has two kids, Claire and Mitchell, who are grown and have their own families. Jay also struggles with expressing his love to his kids causing pretty hilarious awkward moments.

Claire Dunphy, wife of Phil, and mother of three children: Haley, Alex, and Luke is your typical, average mother; usually stressed all the time, corny, and trying her hardest to prevent her kids from becoming wild like she was in her teenage years. Her husband Phil considers her to be very naggy, strict, and overly excited to certain issues. Claire considers Phil as the “child” she married. There is constant verbal arguing during the show about disagreements regular married couples have. The two raise their children to take on life, trying to shield them from possessing any type of bad qualities or characteristics. But as we know all children are flawed: Hayley, the teenager and the oldest which the parents have to deal with her hormonal issues; Alex with her manipulative nature; and Luke with his mindless lack of sense. Fun and interesting family, huh?
Then there is Mitchell Pritchett, who also happens to be gay. His family embraces the fact that he is gay and the show exaggerates the gay couple, which I think is like one of the best qualities of the show. Mitchell Pritchett and his husband Cameron adopt a baby girl from China. And being the first timers that they are, they strive for the goal to raise their daughter to be the best she can be, driving over bumps in the road on their way there.

The fictional characters talk directly to the camera going into detail about emotions of rage, annoyance, joy, or confusion after an action is made or something is said, and personally I think it makes it all the more better. The show is a mockumentary on ideal families and the difficulties and pleasures we experience. It has sibling rivalries, teenage drama, parental issues,parent-child conflicts, and family changes. It’s a must see if you’re looking for joy, life, laughter, or something to watch with the family. It teaches you life lessons and the important value of family. Overall the show opens you up to normal family issues and mocks them makes them sound ridiculous, puts tickles in your throat , and stirs laughter. It’s a great show! Anyone looking for a laugh should definitely, 100% watch this! You can watch it on abc family at 9/8 central on Wednesday.

Till our next encounter citizens!

One Tree Hill

Step into the new TV season of 2003!

Welcome back, teenage titans! Hope your Thanksgivings were thankful. I’ve got brand new news: I am going to start a once a month post where I talk about an old TV show that was a pretty hot series. A lot of people are tired of all the new TV shows They argue about the value of old TV shows, saying they were better, and that they showed more romance, humor, joy, tragedy, suspense, revenge, betrayal and other interesting themes. Well, I was thinking back to old times and the number one hit TV series that popped into my head was “One Tree Hill.” You may or may not be familiar with the show, so let me elaborate.

This series follows the consequential lives of a few high school students from a small town in North Carolina, Tree Hill. The show emphasizes what goes on in the lives of high schoolers. There is relationship drama, mistreatment, school hierarchies, competition, friendship, betrayal, family issues, and the famous cause of stomach butterflies, CRUSHES. The series follows a few students, but the main focus is Haley James, Brooke Davis, Nathan Scott, Lucas Scott, and Peyton Sawyer.

Lucas Scott is a skilled basketball player, playing the sport for fun, writing his life out on his personal computer, experiencing his own father denying his existence, being mistreated by the basketball team, and struggling to find his identity. He seems to fancy Peyton Sawyer a lot. Peyton Sawyer stands with the popular crew, but doesn’t really feel like she fits in. She struggles with the loss of a parent( her mother), the feeling of being an outcast, and dating the player Nathan Scott(captain of the basketball team). Even though she is artistic she struggles with feeling lack of confidence, having attitude problems, and struggling with her identity as well. The feelings Lucas and Peyton have for each other and how they struggle to express them are entertaining, in my opinion. Nathan Scott is rich and popular. He too hates the way his father treats him and strives to be the best in basketball. He also has commitment issues. He’s what you call a player and also a heartless cliche. Nathan finds someone who helps him open up and change his ways to...well you can find out.

In contrast to these troubled characters, Brooke Davis is very sure of who she is and what she wants to be, but finds herself learning new things about herself. She is the school slut, rocking in the popular crowd, talented in design, and secretly smart. She deals with a lack of attention from her rich, careless and heartless mother. She strives with trust issues, temptation and betrayal. Brooke is best friends with Peyton and is pretty skanky in this series and you would be surprised to know what follows. Haley James, another strong personality, is best friends with Lucas. She is extremely smart, outgoing, kind, supportive, and caring. She doesn’t really toil in high school, at the beginning she has all that she needs. But she finds herself developing feelings for the person she’s supposed to hate and that causes a few new twists as the story develops.

The characters are portrayed realistically, even at their worst, and the show gives a pretty accurate picture of high school life. I think that “One Tree Hill” is an amazing TV show and if you like the series, you’ll be happy to learn that there are 8 seasons with 187 episodes to watch. Seriously, it’s one of my favorite shows so WATCH IT on Netflix.
